LaCie have always been a company that has Mac support as a core of their business.
Many LaCie products are a result of collaboration with world-famous designers such as Porsche Design, Frenchman Ora-Ito and Philippe Starck and most famously, Scotland’s Neil Poulton. Poulton is responsible for the design of many LaCie products, most notably the durable and aesthetic aluminum d2 enclosure that has become a hallmark of the LaCie product line. Starck is also known as the designer of former Apple chief Steve Jobs $85 million yacht! When you buy a LaCie product you are literally buying a piece of art!
LaCie drives come with warranties up to three or even five years! Entry level products come with a one year warranty while the highest-end products aimed at the professional market are manufactured with enterprise-class drives and have three to five year warranties. While you may find cheaper products you will not find a product with better quality or design – two of the principles you had in mind when your purchased your Apple computer!
