Just in time for the holiday season, Mac Outpost & Outpost2 have a fantastic stock on the newest 4th generation Apple TV. Whats so great about it you ask? Oh, just Siri, a touch sensitive remote, built in storage (32/64GB), and did I mention an APP STORE?
I recently had the opportunity to install a couple of these in a customers home and was pleasantly pleased with the ease of setup on the new interface. The new Siri enabled touch remote glides around the screen with ease and I was online and playing very quickly.
As soon as we had the initial setup complete we focused on the brand new App Store. For many years Apple has been slowly pushing out apps like Netflix, various sports apps like the MLB, NHL, and NFL apps as well as other streaming and news services. The real advantage now is developers can start creating new applications from scratch similar to the way the App Store works on your iPhone and iPad. This really unlocks the potential of the “smart TV” era and puts the control in the hands of you and I.
Speaking of control, the very first thing we did was connect the very comfortable (and usually hard to find- only $79. Don’t worry; we’ve brought in extras for the holiday season) Steelseries Nimbus controller for the video games on the AppleTV. The graphics and ability of this little box is extremely impressive. If you’re at all curious we’ve got both the Apple TV and Nimbus controller on demo at Outpost2 in White Oaks Mall.
Please come on in and feel free to check out the latest and one of our most popular gifts this season and share in the fun and entertainment for the whole family!
