My girlfriend and I decided to go camping at my family cabin last week. No running water, no electricity, middle of the woods, on the edge of a lake — perfect! The only down side? No music.
Mac Outpost carries the small, mobile speakers called the “Chill Pill”. We decided to pick up a set and bring them with us. Before, if we wanted music we’d have to tune in to the radio or aux output in the car, roll down the windows and turn the music up. Now we have a portable, great sounding stereo that we can take anywhere with us.
When stuck together, the speakers fit nicely in the palm of your hand. The insides of the set separate but snap together with a few strategically placed magnets for easy transport. All the cables you would need are hidden within and retract which is very handy. Flip open little notches and you’ll find the aux cable, the charging cable, and the cable to connect the two speakers together. All are retractable. Awesome!
The Chill Pill speakers are great because the audio cable is a standard RCA mini one, so you don’t have to worry about the devices you use it with as long as they have a headphone jack. You can use them with your iPhone/iPod/iPad, mp3 device, or any brand of phone. The speakers have two power options as well: battery or recharge via USB (which, of course, is a built in retractable cable). We used the speakers for about 12 hours and still have yet to had to recharge them.
The sound quality is very good, much better than just an iPhone (what we used the speakers with), but obviously not quite as good as a full power stereo. The Chill Pills are neat because with one little twist at the end of each speaker they pop open to reveal better bass sound.
If you find yourself in need of some tunes on the go, I can definitely recommend these small but capable speakers!
