Definition of “Coverage Period” by Product Type:

iMac 21.5” & 27” – brand new sealed product – 3 Years from original purchase

Mac Mini – brand new sealed product – 3 Years from original purchase

MacBook Air & MacBook Pro 13” – brand new sealed product – 3 Years from original purchase

MacBook 15” – brand new sealed product – 3 Years from original purchase

iMac 21.5” & 27”  – preowned product – 1 Year from original purchase

Mac Mini – preowned product – 1 Year from original purchase

MacBook Air & MacBook Pro 13” – preowned product – 1 Year

MacBook 15” – preowned product – 1 Year from original purchase

iPad – preowned product – 1 Year from original purchase

Accessory, Watch, Cable – 2 Years from original purchase

Please check your invoice to determine the coverage level and duration of coverage for your unit.  Coverage durations described here are typical, but specific coverage durations are specified on your original invoice and in cases of discrepancy are considered correct.

Definition of “The Reseller”:

The Reseller is defined as Mac Consulting Group Inc., Mac Outpost, 2379585 Ontario Inc.,

Outpost2 or any other company legally related to these aforementioned companies.

Two Forms of Protection, herein referred to collectively as “The Plans”:

1) Outpost Protection Plan (OPP): Extended Coverage Protection Plan: covers same issues as device’s manufacturer’s warranty for the duration of the Coverage Period. (see below for details)

2) Outpost Protection Plan+ (OPP+): Accidental Damage from Normal Handling Protection Plan: covers accidental damage from normal handling for the duration of the Coverage Period. Deductible applies. Applicable to brand new sealed protect and select pre-owned products. Please check the detail on your invoice to confirm OPP or OPP+ coverage. (also see below for details)

Outpost Protection Plan (OPP)
Extended Coverage Protection Plan:

The Extended Coverage Protection Plan provides extended parts and labour warranty coverage for the device.

On brand new sealed product, the Extended Coverage Protection Plan commences immediately following the expiry of the Apple one-year limited warranty, and terminates 3 years from the original sales invoice date.

On pre-owned product, the Extended Coverage Protection Plan commences on the original sales invoice date and terminates 1 year from the original sales invoice date.

This plan does not include software support, telephone support, and coverage for other products.

At its sole option, The Reseller may elect to repair, rebuild, or replace the defective device in whole or in part, to restore normal functions. It may also use genuine Apple parts, refurbished parts, or third-party parts equivalent to new in performance and reliability to repair or rebuild the defective device.

Exclusions:

The Plans exclude coverage for any components that are covered by any recall or quality programs provided by Apple Inc.

Shipping charges, loaners, or lost productivity due to device failure are not covered under The Plans.

Outpost Protection Plan+ (OPP+)

Includes all coverage aspects of “Outpost Protection Plan (OPP)“ listed above plus:
Accidental Damage from Normal Handling Protection Plan:

The Accidental Damage from Normal Handling Protection Plan for OPP+ provides parts and labour warranty coverage for the device after damage has occurred due to normal, everyday mishandling. It commences immediately from the invoice date and continues for as long as thecustomer’s account is in good standing, and terminates at the end of the Coverage Period. Atour sole discretion purely cosmetic damage such as minor dents, scratches, blemishes, etc. that do not affect the operation of the computer will not be covered under this plan.

Each device is eligible for two (2) accidental damage related service events during the duration of the Coverage Period, each event subjected to a service fee (deductible):

Mac: 10% of the Mac’s original purchase price plus applicable tax.

iPad: 15% of the original purchase price plus applicable tax.

Watch: 15% of the original purchase price plus applicable tax.

A “service event” is defined as an occasion when the device is brought into a service centre for servicing. You may be asked to provide an explanation of where and when the accident occurred with a detailed description of the actual event. A claim will be denied if you fail to pay the service fee (deductible) or fail to provide information relating to the accident when asked. The Accidental Damage from Normal Handling Protection Plan coverage only applies to an operational or mechanical failure caused by an accident from handling that is the result of an unexpected and unintentional external event (e.g. drops and liquid contact) that arises from your normal daily usage of the device as intended for such device. The Accidental Damage from Normal Handling Coverage Protection Plan coverage does not insure against theft of all or part of the device. The Accidental Damage from Normal Handling Coverage Protection Plan does not include protection against normal wear and tear nor reckless conduct associated with handling and use of the device.

At its sole option, The Reseller may elect to repair, rebuild, or replace the defective device in whole or in part, to restore normal functions. It may also use genuine Apple parts, refurbished parts, or third-party parts equivalent to new in performance and reliability to repair or rebuild the defective device.

The Reseller is not responsible for data loss of any kind including but not limited to any time period that the device is in possession of The Reseller.

The Plans do not apply to a device with a serial number that has been altered, defaced or removed.

The Plans do not apply to a device has been modified to alter its functionality or capability without the written permission of the manufacturer.

The Plans do not apply to cosmetic damage to the device, including but not limited to scratches and dents, that do not otherwise affect the functionality of the device; moreover,The Plans do not apply to defects caused by normal wear and tear or which is otherwise due to normal aging of the product.

The Plans do not apply to batteries that are older than one year in a brand new sealed product and The Plans do not apply to batteries that are older than 6 months in a preowned product and will only be replaced when proven to be part of a manufacturer’s defect and/or be proven to be underperforming as determined by The Reseller. 

Batteries are considered to be a consumable item with limited lifespan and replacement may not be covered under warranty.

Service Options

You may bring the defective device into any location of The Reseller (as defined above) for diagnosis and repair.
