With exam season as well as Spring right around the corner I figured it was time for another informative blog from yours truly!
I’m thinking we can go a little off the board as per usual with my subjects, this time touching on the realm of anti virus-malware protection know hows.
Mac users are often told that they don’t need antivirus software, because “Mac’s don’t get viruses”.
However, this is not true at all, as Macs actually can be affected by malware! The frequency of these occurrences has been increasing over the past several years.
Even the first well-known virus (many years ago) “Elk Cloner” affected Apple computers rather than the MS-DOS computers of the day.
We’ve been seeing a real upturn in cases of malware/adware/spyware on machines these last couple years dramatically at Mac Outpost.
Being that Mac computers are “cool” and more popular now than ever before, it’s no wonder our machines are getting hit more often than in years past.
The good news — We can help! If you’re finding you’ve attracted any means of malware etc. online, our “Deep Clean Service” is the way to go.
We can also provide anti malware software, including fully licensed products as Avast, as well as a personal favourite of mine and many of us here on staff, E-Set Cyber Security.
If you have any questions about malware, the effects of such, or would like more information on services we provide to alleviate common issues we regularly see, please feel more than free to drop by Mac Outpost and speak to me directly.
Have a great start to spring everyone……if it ever does decide to show up!
