It seems like only yesterday, but I recall a time five or more years ago that a fellow Apple enthusiast asked what my favourite Apple device was. It was difficult to choose between my iPad, and Apple TV. Both are frequently used, and indeed well-loved.
Fast forward to 2017 and in spite of still loving my iPad and Apple TV, fondness for the Apple Watch is rapidly developing. Having one on my wrist every day since the spring, it has become an extension of my phone, and the need for carrying my phone in my pocket isn’t as necessary as it once was.
On my wrist all the notifications we love are immediately there: iMessages, texts, email, current weather, minute timer, reminders, and of course notifications from social media, and my activity such as steps and exercise.
The feature I love the most though is the GPS when I’m driving. Turn indicators are tiny vibrations on my wrist and there’s very little need to look at my phone. It’s like magic!
It’s no wonder why Apple Watch has become one of this year’s hottest gifts for Christmas. All this … and it can even tell me the time of day!
